San Diego Memoir Writers Association is pleased to present our first Member of the Month.

For March 2019, we present Patricia Frank.

Read a Q & A Interview below with Patricia M. Frank, Journals For Foster Youth Program & Susan J. Farese, SJF Communications

SJF: How did you discover SDMWA?

PMF: I was in Marni’s class last year and received a certificate of completion. I was pleased that I finished something (i.e., all the classes in the Memoir Certificate Program). I naturally attended a Memoir Associate meeting to keep the memoir swag coming my way.

SJF: What made you decide to take on the Journals For Foster Youth Program?

PMF: Seems like a worthwhile program and a great way of staying involved with memoir.

SJF: What are you currently working on?

PMF: I Am currently working on a short story in Rich Farrell’s Creative Writing – Fiction class.

SJF: What are some of your favorite memoirs (or movies based on memoirs)?

PMF: Oh my gosh…let me think…

SJF: Any advice for new writers?

PMF: I would have a lot of advice, but it’s only from my experience, and so is personally tailored to my own eccentricities. Every writer develops their own method…with tips from experts like Rich, Marni, and Tracy and by being involved in a community like San Diego Writers, Ink.

SJF: Thank you for all you are doing as a member of SDMWA and with the Journals for Foster Youth Program!
